N.Y. proposal would designate legal blogs as advertising.

A new rule being considered by the state of New York would make legal blogs subject to rules on advertising. Of interest to attorneys nationwide, “[t]he proposal, by a committee created by the state’s Administrative Board of Courts, also suggests that the state code of professional responsibility extend court jurisdiction to out-of-state legal advertising that appears in New York.” Legal bloggers may want to watch what happens in New York.
